A new song

Updated: Apr 12, 2020

For today’s blog, I wanted to share a song that I’ve been working on for a while, which seemed appropriate for the topic of worship through challenge and crisis, as well as the current isolation that we find ourselves in.

The song is about God’s presence always being with us no matter what happens in life. I hope and pray that God uses it to bring you comfort and reassurance of His presence in these difficult times.

You are there

Verse 1

When I’m lost and unsure, and can’t take anymore,

You are there, and You watch over me,

When I can’t carry on, and there’s nowhere to run,

You are there, in the silence I know You are there.

Verse 2

When I’m broken inside and there’s nowhere to hide,

You are there, and You take hold of me,

When it’s falling apart and I’m back to the start,

You are there, in the midst of the storm You are there.

Chorus

You will never leave me,

Even through the darkest hour,

Lead me, I will follow,

Every step, that I take, You’ll be there.

Verse 3

When life’s passing me by, and I’m empty and dry,

You are there, bringing comfort to me,

When the night closes in and I want to give in,

You are there, in the darkness I know You are there.

Chorus

You will never leave me,

Even through the darkest hour,

Lead me, I will follow,

Every step, that I take, You’ll be there.

Bridge

Angels bow before, creation will adore the Lord most high,

For You, O Lord, are worthy, to receive all glory honour and power.

Verse 4

Whether waking or sleeping, or watching or waiting,

You’re there, and You never let go,

You remain by my side, my refuge, my guide and I know,

That my Saviour will always be there.
